Civil Rights in the Media --October 1st thru January 31st 2014

The exhibit chronicles articles and broadcast news that covered the topic of civil rights, both locally and in other communities, from the 1930s through the 1960s.  Civil Rights in the Media features locally-published newspapers and columns that represented the voice of the African American community, a voice helped spark and sustain many of the pivotal moments and movements in history that reshaped the social fabric of the local community, and ultimately, America.
