“Faith Ringgold: More than 60 Years”

The Snite Museum of Art will host a free artist talk and book signing by internationally known artist and writer Faith Ringgold at 7:00p.m. on Thursday, February 20. The illustrated talk, entitled “Faith Ringgold: More than 60 Years,” will explore the details of Ringgold’s career. Following the talk, Ringgold will sign copies of her books in the Museum’s Mestrovic Studio Gallery.  A limited number of her children’s books will be available for purchase.

The presentation is free and open to all. Free parking is available in the B1 lot south of the   stadium after 4:00 p.m. This event is cosponsored by the Segura Arts Studio; the Snite Museum of Art; the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts; The Department of Art, Art History & Design; First Year Studies; the Department of Africana Studies; and the Center for Social Concerns.

Ringgold was invited to the University of Notre Dame campus primarily to create a new print in the Segura Art Studio in the Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture. Her print, Under a Blood Red Sky, will be available for viewing in the Museum’s Atrium from February 18 through March 16.
