The University of Notre Dame’s Creative Writing Program is proud to sponsor a lively reading of poems and stories to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with the South Bend community. The reading will be held Monday, November 2, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Notre Dame Center for Arts & Culture. It is open to the public, free of charge, and all are welcome.

Modeled on the beautifully decorated altars, or ofrendas, traditionally built by families for Día de los Muertos celebrations, our ofrenda of voices will feature professors and students of Creative Writing reading original poems and stories on themes of migration and transformation, ancestry and the dead.

Visitors to this event are welcome to enjoy complimentary refreshments and delicious, homemade treats. Please stop by to help us celebrate this vital and moving holiday with an ofrenda of voices.
