Day of the Dead Exhibition & Celebration

Location: NDCAC

2016 Day of the Dead Promo

For the fourth year running, the Notre Dame Center for Arts & Culture (NDCAC) is hosting an art exhibition for Día de los Muertos. This fifteen year University of Notre Dame tradition is exhibiting altars created by community members.  Ofrendas (offerings) or Altares (altars) are made in memory of the deceased and are a good example of the cultural hybridity of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

The exhibition is free and open to the public for the month of October, stop by and submit your vote for community favorite. On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm we will be having a celebration at the NDCAC complete with performances by Ballet Folklorico, Coro Primavera, & more.  Other activities including face painting, paper flower making. Traditional pan de muerto will be served. There is a free, round-trip shuttle leaving from McKenna Hall beginning at 4:50 pm.
