Indiana University South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center Presents: Echoes From Birmingham: 50 Years Later; Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham, Alabama church bombing that galvanized efforts to pass the landmark Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965.
Gospel Memorial Concert will feature the Gospel Choirs of Indiana University South Bend, Bethel College, University of Notre Dame, and the Andrews University Silent Praise sign choir.
Dianne Braddock will deliver the keynote address. Braddock is the sister of Carole Robertson, who was one of four schoolgirls killed when a bomb planted by white supremacist terrorists in the 16th Street Baptist Church exploded on the morning of September 15, 1963.
