The Center for History will sponsor a gallery wall featuring the photos of relatives of local residents who migrated to Michiana from other cities, states, and countries. This event is open to the public. We encourage all members of the community to bring in family photos, so that they can be scanned and added to the gallery!
This event is a part of the Great Migration Series, which was inspired by Isabel Wilkerson’s The Warmth of Other Suns. This series of events focuses on the migration of African Americans from the south to the north from 1915 – 1970. Please feel free to check out the other events that are a part of this series!
