Teresa Webb Native American Culture through Storytelling

Location: Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture

April 23-24, 2015
Campus and community members will have an opportunity to meet Teresa Webb (Anishinaabe) and hear about Native American cultures through stories and songs, accompanied by flute, drum and rattle.   A third generation Anishinaabe Ottawa Potawatomi storyteller, Teresa uses music and stories in her work as a Cultural Awareness Educator at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis.   During her visit Teresa will:
Teach the NDCAC afterschool students how to make talking sticks
Conduct an educations presentation for the community at NDCAC
Have brunch with NASAND and local Native American Alumni
We have shared this program information with the Pokagon Band and they plan to have Teresa conduct a Native American Culture session with the Pokagon Band Afterschool Program in Dowagiac
