Day of the Dead in the City of Chicago
November 1st, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
New this year, the National Museum of Mexican Art will be showcasing a city-wide Day of the Dead celebration. The museum and surrounding area will be turned into an elaborate work of art, featuring visual displays which reveal the story of the Day of the Dead. Additionally, Harrison Park will be transformed into a festive cemetery, complete with ofrendas, created by community members, local artists and organizations. Guests will also enjoy pan de muerto and hot chocolate, musical performances, face painting and art activities. This event is free and open to the public.
