Talleres de la Frontera is a group exhibition featuring monotypes on paper made in workshops at the Segura Arts Studio, South Bend, IN and El Nopal Press, Los Angeles, CA in August of 2014. These prints have travelled together to exhibit in Mexico and New York. On their return trip to South Bend the exhibition was increased with additional prints made by local artists at a new workshop held at the Segura Arts Studio in August 2016.
Exhibiting artists and workshop participants are Adriana Corral, Alma Lopez, Alejandro Romero, Elena Zarandona, Esperanza Gama, Francesco Siquerios, Gronk, Heather Parrish, Hector Duarte, Jackie Welsh, Justin Barfield, Linda Vallejo, Lino Martinez, Maclovio Cantu, Maria Tomasula, Nitza Tufino, Poli Marichal, Ramiro Rodriguez, and Sal Moya.
The overall theme of the prints are migration and borders. Each artist has interpreted the prompt in their own way provoking rich conversation about the issues depicted.
